PASOK’s Androulakis: Water shortage and climate crisis impacting Greece

PASOK-Movement for Change leader Nikos Androulakis began his tour in Argolida on Friday, emphasizing that Greece is experiencing severe impacts from water shortages and the climate crisis nationwide. “The management of water resources is therefore a very critical issue,” he stressed.

During his speech at the Anavalos dam, Androulakis highlighted that between 2010 and 2014, studies for an irrigation project with a total budget exceeding 90 million euros were approved and implemented. However, he noted, the projects remain incomplete.

“We are once again confronted with poor government planning,” Androulakis stated. “In this new era, where water management and energy are crucial for the resilience of our domestic production and the daily lives of millions of Greeks, it is our duty to develop a comprehensive plan. This will ensure our country remains competitive and resilient against the climate crisis and major global challenges.”
