A police operation carried out Tuesday in Fyli, on the northwestern outskirts of Athens, resulted in 20 arrests linked to electricity theft and road traffic violations, authorities said.
During the operation, a crew from DEDDIE, the electricity distribution network operator, removed more than 2 kilometers of illegal electricity cabling used to siphon power, while supply to 80 households was disconnected.
Police also issued 42 fines for traffic offenses, including driving without a license, using a mobile phone while driving, and failing to wear seatbelts or helmets.
A case file has been submitted to a prosecutor, authorities added.
