Financial support for the media

Financial support for the media

The 2026-2030 program to help financially support the country’s media enterprises will begin, following the issuance of a joint ministerial decision.

It was cosigned by Alternate Finance Minister Nikos Papathanasis; deputy minister to the prime minister and government spokesman, Pavlos Marinakis; and Deputy Finance Minister Athanasios Petralias.

The program establishes the legal and financial framework for the funding of the journalism sector.

The program has received approval from the European Commission under state aid rules and is funded with €16.8 million from the National Development Program. The initiative aims to support journalism, safeguard jobs, and preserve media pluralism.
