Dear Sisters and Brothers,
I hope this message finds you well and your family safe. As the world continues to battle the spread of COVID-19 my hope is that you are staying actively engaged with your chapter and fellow Ikarian members. While the majority of social gatherings have been placed on hold, planning for the future will help ensure we maintain our momentum and enthusiasm once this pandemic ends. Together we can still stay connected and set goals for the Brotherhood’s future!
As the summer season commences I wanted to share with you some news and updates from the Brotherhood.
2020 National Convention Postponement
By now, I’m sure you are all aware that this year’s Supreme National Convention in Toronto has been rescheduled for 2022. While this was a very difficult decision to make, the Supreme Lodge felt it was necessary in order to ensure the safety of our members.
Next year’s Supreme Convention will be held in Cleveland, Ohio; and I hope you all are able to attend.
Pan Icarian Brotherhood Community Food Bank Drive
In an effort to help our local communities during this time of crisis the Brotherhood initiated a community food drive challenge, asking chapters to support their local food bank / food pantry by raising funds or collecting food donations. I’m happy to report that already several chapters have participated in this great event and I encourage others to join us in this worthy cause.
Remember, for chapters which raise $500 (or more) towards this effort, the Pan-Icarian Brotherhood’s Foundation will contribute an addition $500! Please notify our Foundation Chair, Nina Contis, or myself for more information.
2020 Scholarships Program
There is still time (Ikarian time) to submit applications for this year’s Pan-Icarian Scholarship program. Applications are due by July 1st , and can be submitted quickly through our website.
Each year this valuable program invests in our youth and I encourage all eligible students who are continuing their education at a university or trade school to apply.
Applications can be found on our website at: https://pan-icarian.com/scholarships. Questions on the application process can be submitted to our Scholarship Chairman George Livanos (firstname.lastname@example.org).
I hope that you and your family remain safe during these unprecedented times, but also stay optimistic for the year ahead. Thank you for your support and dedication to the Pan-Icarian Brotherhood.
