The first victim, a student aged 15, was hanging out with friends at the corner of Vouliagmenis Avenue and Ilia Iliou Streets in the district of Neos Kosmos, when the group was  approached by about 10 suspects who asked them where they were from and then assaulted them with knives. The teen was injured on the back and thigh and was transferred to the Aglaia Kyriakou Children’s Hospital for treatment.

When officers arrived at the hospital to take his testimony, they found a second teen, aged 14, who had also been attacked in a similar fashion on the same night, two blocks away from the first victim.

Authorities said the two attacks share common characteristics and have identified two suspects who may have been involved.
